Heavy Weapon Deluxe is a total blast from the past that still holds up incredibly well today. The side-scrolling action is frantic, colorful, and just pure fun if you want to switch your brain off for a bit. Controlling the tank feels responsive, and the sheer number of upgrades keeps the progression loop satisfying throughout the campaign. It runs perfectly on my PC, and I honestly think it’s the best arcade-style shooter of its era.
The replay value here is surprisingly high because the difficulty spikes later on really force you to master the power-ups and movement patterns. While the graphics are definitely retro, the vibrant art style gives it a distinct charm that modern high-fidelity games sometimes lack. It is a simple concept executed perfectly, and it remains one of the most addictive titles in my library for quick gaming sessions. If you enjoy classic arcade shooters, this one is an absolute must-play.
