The Ascent is easily one of the most visually stunning games I have played in years. The neon-drenched, vertical world-building is top-tier, making every sector of the map feel alive and dangerous. While the twin-stick shooter mechanics are fairly standard, they feel incredibly punchy and satisfying during chaotic firefights. I had a great time playing this on my PC, where the detailed environments really shine. If you love deep sci-fi atmosphere and addictive loot-driven gameplay, you should definitely dive into this urban dystopia.
The story starts off a bit slow, but once you get into the rhythm of upgrading your cybernetics and taking on side missions, it becomes hard to put down. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the destructible environments add to the intensity of combat. While there were a few minor bugs at launch, recent updates have made the experience much smoother. It is a fantastic choice for anyone who enjoys cooperative play, as clearing out hordes of enemies with a friend is an absolute blast.
