Sheltered is easily one of the most stressful yet rewarding survival management games I have ever played. You are tasked with keeping a family alive in a cramped underground bunker, and every single decision matters. One wrong move with your water filtration or oxygen supply, and it is game over. The pixel art style is charming, but don’t let that fool you; the game is incredibly dark, demanding, and unforgiving. It kept me hooked for hours trying to perfect my base management strategies.
Playing this on PC really highlights the depth of the mechanics, especially when you have to head out into the wasteland to scavenge for supplies. The combat is simple but tense, and managing your family’s mental health while dealing with raiders is a constant struggle. Although the difficulty spike can be frustrating, the replay value is massive because every run feels completely different. If you enjoy deep simulation games that don’t hold your hand, this is definitely worth your time.
