Sonic Lost World takes the blue blur in a different direction with its cylindrical level designs and parkour-inspired movement. While some longtime fans found the shift to slower, platforming-focused gameplay a bit jarring compared to the pure speed of Generations, the visual style is undeniably vibrant and charming. It feels like a beautiful experiment that tries to blend different styles of platforming together. The boss battles against the Deadly Six add a nice layer of personality, even if the difficulty spikes can be frustrating.
Playing this title on PC really highlights the clean, colorful art direction and smooth frame rates that weren’t always present on earlier consoles. The controls take a little time to master, especially when transitioning between gravity-shifting surfaces, but it rewards you once it clicks. It isn’t the most popular entry in the series, but it offers a genuinely unique experience that stands out from the rest. If you enjoy creative platforming courses, it is definitely worth a playthrough.
