STAR WARS Rogue Squadron 3D remains an absolute classic for any fan of arcade flight simulators. Even by today’s standards, the sense of speed and intensity during the trench runs is incredible. The controls feel tight and responsive, making it easy to jump in and start taking down TIE fighters immediately. While the graphics show their age, the gameplay loop is so addictive that you honestly stop noticing the textures after the first mission. It is a genuine nostalgia trip that still holds up perfectly on a modern PC.

I recently decided to give this title another playthrough, and I was surprised by how much fun I still had. The mission variety is fantastic, ranging from defensive maneuvers to all-out assault strikes against the Empire. It captures the spirit of the original films perfectly, and the sound design is top-notch for the era. If you enjoy Star Wars games that emphasize skill and fast-paced action over complex management systems, this is a must-play. It definitely earns a spot in my favorites list.
