Playing Operation Flashpoint: Red River feels like a genuine test of patience and coordination. If you enjoy tactical shooters where you actually have to work with your squad, this game delivers a pretty solid experience. The combat feels grounded, and the mission variety keeps things from getting too repetitive, even if the enemy AI can be a bit frustrating at times. It is definitely one of those titles that deserves a spot in your library if you enjoy realistic military scenarios.
I spent a lot of time testing this on my PC, and the performance held up surprisingly well during intense firefights. While the graphics show their age, the atmosphere of the Tajikistan setting really pulls you in. Controlling your fireteam can be clunky, but once you get the hang of the command wheel, it adds a nice layer of depth. If you have friends to play co-op with, it is a fun tactical throw-back that still holds up today.
