I finally got stuck into Necrosis: Reconfigurated this weekend, and it honestly blew me away. The atmosphere is terrifyingly tense, and the sound design keeps you constantly looking over your shoulder. It is rare to see an indie project nail the pacing this well, balancing exploration with genuinely pulse-pounding encounters. The controls feel snappy and responsive, which is a huge relief for a game that demands such precision during combat. It is easily one of the best survival horror experiences I have had on my PC this year.
The developers have clearly put a lot of love into this update, as the visual style is much more polished than early builds suggested. It does a fantastic job of building a dark, mysterious world that rewards curious players with pieces of the lore. While it can be quite challenging, the replay value is high because you are always finding new ways to handle enemies. If you enjoy games that focus on dread and smart mechanics, you really need to give this title a shot.
