“Damnation: City of Death” (or simply “Damnation”) has been universally panned by critics. This game, originally released by Codemasters in 2009 (and which subsequently spawned early access versions and indie titles), is generally criticized for its clunky controls, empty levels, and the mediocre execution of an otherwise promising steampunk concept.
Damnation PC is generally considered a massive disappointment, failing to live up to the promise of its ambitious “steampunk western” concept. Public reviews unanimously condemn the fundamentally flawed gameplay mechanics, highlighting that the shooting lacks accuracy and the climbing controls are incredibly clunky. Although the levels feature impressive verticality, players find them completely empty, tedious to traverse, and populated by enemies with terribly limited artificial intelligence.
