Banana Hell is one of those titles that lures you in with a quirky premise and then proceeds to test your patience to the absolute limit. The platforming mechanics are incredibly tight, but the level design is intentionally cruel. If you enjoy games that punish every minor mistake with instant restarts, you will find this strangely addictive. It runs buttery smooth on my PC, and the minimalist aesthetic really helps you focus on the chaotic obstacles being thrown your way during every stage.
The community hype around this game is well-deserved because it manages to be funny and infuriating at the same time. While the controls might feel a bit slippery at first, you eventually get the hang of the momentum needed to clear the harder jumps. It is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to kill an hour or two while testing their reflexes. I definitely recommend giving it a shot if you consider yourself a fan of “rage-inducing” indie platformers.
