Sonic Mania is a love letter to the golden age of side-scrolling platformers. The level design is absolutely brilliant, blending classic zones we all remember with fresh, inventive mechanics that keep things feeling modern. The pixel art is vibrant and crisp, running perfectly on my PC without a single stutter. If you grew up playing the original Sega titles, the physics and momentum-based gameplay will feel instantly familiar yet polished to perfection for a new generation.
The replay value here is incredible thanks to the multiple playable characters and the hidden secrets tucked away in every corner. Boss fights are challenging and creative, often throwing clever twists that force you to master your reflexes. Even after beating the main story, I keep coming back to improve my time trial scores. It is rare to find a game this polished and faithful to its roots. It is easily the best Sonic experience released in the last two decades.
