Mars War Logs manages to pack a punch despite its smaller budget. Playing through this game on my PC was a great experience because the story is genuinely compelling and dark. The combat system feels visceral, requiring you to master timing and parrying to survive against the harsh desert atmosphere. While the graphics might look a bit dated by today’s standards, the world-building and character choices keep things interesting throughout the entire campaign. It is a hidden gem for any sci-fi fan.
The level design is surprisingly dense, and I really enjoyed how the crafting system impacts your gear. Controlling Roy is smooth, and the way you can upgrade your abilities adds a nice layer of depth to the progression. Some players might find the environments a bit repetitive after a while, but the narrative stakes definitely make up for it. If you want a solid RPG that doesn’t overstay its welcome and focuses on tough moral dilemmas, this game is a fantastic pick.
